That's how I know my s10 doesn't make any power. The 700r4 is still alive
Now now, the 700r4 isn't a bad transmission. I've put a lot of miles and horespower through them. I know of one specific junkyard Caddy take out that is living happily behind a 454 in an El Camino that is running high 11's on drag radials. The car has 3.23 gears and air conditioning, and it hasn't broken the 700r4 yet. (YET...)
