Why didn't Volvo make the fuel pumps come on when key is in the start position instead of the on position? I would think that priming the fuel system before starting would make for quicker starts. Can this be changed on a 85 B21ft?

Has anyone used 90 degree fittings on the oil filter relocation base? On my 84 turbo I am having a hard time finding a place to mount it and I think if I could use 90 degree fittings the hoses would fit better.
Is there any difference in a before 1985 and after 1985 240 windshield other then the rubber weatherstrip. I have read that people ask for a 91+ windshield because the weatherstrip is different. Is that the 2nd time they changed or 3rd. time?

I was changing the turbo exhaust manifold to a 90+ and what I found looking at the exhaust runners was #1 had carbon 2# was clean with no carbon #3 was clean no carbon #4 carbon. I have no vacuum leaks that I could find. The exhaust header gaskets had a good seal. So what would cause this?
