What's up everyone? Hope your holidays were great.

Car: '88 744, 5.7 LS1, Twin Turbo, T56.

The ABS pump has been removed, and I will be cleaning up the brake lines soon. my main question is if there is any difference between the ABS/Non-ABS front brake calipers as far as stopping power goes? I am keeping the Hydras on the car for the time being, so big brakes aren't an option currently. The factory brakes obviously aren't cutting it when slowing from higher speeds. I'm planning on X-drilled and slotted rotors w/ some nice Hawk pads for the time being. The car is being set up for drag racing, so repeated heavy braking won't be happening. Do you think this will be sufficient? If the ABS/Non-ABS Calipers are different, do either have any noticeable advantages? Thanks in advance

You may need to figure out front to rear brake bias. This why the ABS module is still installed on my 88 765 even though it's disabled. You can run Jumbo brakes with 15 inch wheels. The difference in the brake calipers is the number of brake hoses that are connected.

Oh, ok. I have never seen a Non-ABS 700 series, so i wasn't sure if they have the same double brake hose setup per caliper.

88 740 with ABS has one brake hose per caliper. 88 740 w/o ABS has two brake hoses per caliper. This was true of 740's up until about 1991.
