Fuel line heat shielding

I have a 302 swapped 245 and I just made a dual exhaust for it with side exits. On the driver side the pipe gets a little too close for comfort to the fuel lines maybe an inch and a half at the closest. I plan on wrapping the exhaust in header wrap hopefully it will help. But have any of you guys done any heat shielding for the fuel lines before? I was hoping to not use the fiberglass hose shields for it, looking for any ideas. Or am I just worrying too much? Thanks.

Im also thinking of shielding the brake lines right next to the engine because they are about 8 inches from the headers on the drivers side.

I’ve used the fiberglass and reflective hose but in my last install I just rerouted the entire fuel line to the passenger side. Much less stuff in the way.

I started using late model volvo exhaust aluminum shield (any late model car will have it). Cut it to fit and screw it on. I like the idea of using an air gap instead of the hose insulation now.

I shielded mine in/around the fuel pump area when I had duals on my 5.0L powered car. Used simple aluminum gutter flashing to shield the pump. Used black split 3/4" heater hose on a couple of very short sections of the fuel line. 19 year beta test proved successful. I also shielded using the flexible reflective/insulated thermal wrap in the area near the firewall where exhaust and fuel/brake/fuel tank vent lines come up from the bottom. Again - no problems for almost two decades.

I just have my duals wrapped. No problems in a couple of years

meh lotta fuel runs through it, it don't hang out there long buuuut cold fuel is happy fuel= happy engine
